Wow! Time really does fly!  It has been almost three weeks since my last post regarding the wide floral ribbon that I purchased some time ago.  Here is the link to that last post, which has given rise to this one. Well, the big reveal is finally here! I ended up making a wide brim hat, a jacket, skirt, pull-on under shirt, draw string purse, custom painted shoes and faux pearl jewelry set to add the finishing touches. Making it was a labor of love being that it was a lot of hand sewing to get the tiny details just right. Curvy Barbie Doll Fashions and Music Themed Photographs

I don't know why Music instantly came to mind while veiwing my Mom's doll fashions, but it was a vision that I could not let go until I attempted to create what I saw in my mind.  So, I set out to work on creating a keyboard structure along with the microphones and stands.   If I had time I would have gone further and created some drums, but that would have taken way too long.  So I settled with what I had and I must admit that I sat back and laughed so hard after I finished taking the photos.  The dolls look like they are really into a "boogie woogie" showdown!  And the doll that's playing the keyboard in the background looks a bit frightened as she takes in what is happening...LOL!  Also, I couldn't quite get the doll in the red dress to bend and hold the microphone like I wanted.  It almost looks as though the microphone stand was falling and she's trying her best to catch it... LOL!  All in all, I had so much fun creating this scene and taking the pictures to showcase my Mom's creations at www.enchantedstyles.etsy.com.  I sincerely hope that the pictures make you laugh and brighten your day in some way!  I will post more pictures from this photo shoot at a later date.  Thanks for visiting!

Handmade Barbie Doll Furniture - Sofa and Chair with Television Stand and More

This handmade Barbie doll play scale furniture set is upholstered in black and white houndstooth print and accentuated with red cushions.  The circular papasan chair adds contrast and interest to the other linear pieces contained within this set.  The two-shelf television stand serves to support the television and several great novels below.  The mock television set is actually a small picture frame modified and re-designed to look like a flat screen television.  The back panel can be opened and a picture of one's preference can be added.  A circular end table showcases a decorative plant adding a bit of elegance to this modernized set.  Great for moderate play or a dioramic display!

Barbie Doll Comfortable Jumpsuit Wear - Cream, Tan, and Gold-toned chains

This cream colored, handmade, jumpsuit was inspired by the need to create a comfortable wear Barbie doll outfit for an office setting diorama.  I envisioned something light-colored, soft, flexible, and easy to put on and take off.  I was able to find some durable, stretch knit material among my stash of fabric and away I went at creating this modern, classic, stylish outfit that looks great on Barbie.  In this office setting, I decided that Barbie would be an accomplished music producer.  So, I set about creating the gold record plaques by gluing gold, circular, medallions taken from extra large, dollar store earrings onto a graphic that looked like a music award wall plaque, which gave it a bit of depth and character.  I created an over-sized magazine cover poster to put on the wall by taking a picture of Barbie holding a guitar and adding headline captions all around it.  All in all I enjoyed making this fabulous outfit and creating the surrounding setting that made it come alive!  Thanks for viewing the pictures! Handmade Red and White Barbie Doll Jogging Outfit with White Tennis Shoes

This red and white jogging outfit has a classic design.  Its retro 80's style is fun and youthful.  White stripe detailing in the front and down the sides of each leg makes for a nice contrast against the bold, red color.  In order to showcase the outfit, I set out to make a small gym.  The greatest challenge was making the bleachers.  However, they turned out better than expected considering that it was my first time making any type of staircase.  The basket ball goal was really fun to make.  It always amazes me what can be created with just a few pieces of small wood, scrap paper, plexiglass and glue.  I hope that you enjoy the pictures.  Please be sure to visit our Etsy store for more information about this jogging suit and other great products for your Barbie doll.
